By car:
On the motorway, take either the exit “Basel City” or “Badischer Bahnhof” and then follow the park guidance system to the nearest public car park in town.
Mobility impaired
The museum and the museum courtyard are accessible by wheelchair. All areas in the main building are easily accessible and threshold-free. The same applies to the disabled toilet. Persons accompanying visitors with impaired mobility unable to visit the museum alone, enjoy free entry. A wheelchair is available at the museum. On each floor there is a set of light foldable chairs which can be taken into the exhibition rooms.
Unfortunately, the annex (Basel Carnival exhibition and other occasional events) is not accessible by wheelchair. Some parts of the Museum Bistro Rollerhof can only be accessed with assistance.
Hearing impaired
Every exhibition comes with some form of written information: as handouts in the exhibitions, on our website, or, in some cases, in form of an accompanying publication. Guided tours in sign language are offered once in a while. The dates of these events can be found on our website.
Vision impaired
The captions to the exhibits on display are usually in very small print. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask one of the attendants. Guide dogs and assistance dogs are allowed in the Museum. Please do not touch any of the objects on display.
